The Dean Thornton Goalkeeper Academy

Owner, Dean Thornton is currently the First Team Goalkeeper Coach at Southampton Football Club in the English Premier League.

Dean has worked at every level in the professional game from Premier League, Championship, League 1 and League 2 with over 17 years coaching experience - working at clubs such as Southampton, Swansea , MK Dons and Swindon Town as First Team Goalkeeper Coach.

Dean has had international experience with Taiwan as the Mens National Team GK Coach.

Dean was also Head of Academy Goalkeeping at QPR for 9 years before. Dean has  worked with some of the best goalkeepers in the world including Julio Cesar (87 Brazil caps) Robert Green (England International) and current Premier League international goalkeepers Aaron Ramsdale (England), Gavin Bazunu (Rep of Ireland) as well as keepers such as  Alex McCarthy (Southampton) Steven Benda (Fulham) Andrew Fisher (Swansea) Lee Nicholls (Huddersfield Town) Joe Lumley (Southampton).

His Academy and techniques are designed to help goalkeepers improve technical skills and develop their confidence,

We are based in Maidenhead and Reading and work with children aged 6-18 years old. We can help find professional routes into the game or if you are just looking for a fun session then that is fine too.
